Swedish heritage festival

June ?? 2009

11AM -7PM

The Swedish Heritage Festival is celebrated every year in June.  Our church, originally founded by Swedish immigrants over 125 years ago, commemorates that heritage by observing this annual festival. In Sweden at this same time of the year is held a traditional Swedish holiday, called "Midsommar Festival"    celebrating the “day that never ends” because the sun begins to set around 10:00 p.m. and rises again at 2:00 a.m.

We serve traditional foods, beverages (loganberry, soda, beer, wine), perform folk dances accompanied by a live 4 person ensemble, sell Swedish breads and pastries, sponsor a Swedish store, the Viking Trader from Jamestown and have other activities. This is a family oriented day with plenty for all to do.
